Alex and Michelle met in February 2021 while working nightshift at the busiest ER in the country, Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX. Initially, they had small interactions here and there and exchanged “hello’s” but nothing more than that. Alex would try to make small talk with Michelle after their shift but Michelle had no interest in dating at the time and convinced herself that Alex already had a girlfriend. It was the night before the huge ice storm in February 2021 when both Alex and Michelle were working. The ER was very slow that night (a rare occurrence) so management started to send nurses home early. Michelle was quick to accept the offer to go home especially because she had a flight the next day to San Antonio. So at 4 am, Michelle waited for a long time for the officers at the hospital to escort her to her car. While she was waiting, Alex happened to walk by and said, “Do you need me to walk you to your car?” Michelle said “sure!” and they walked to her car together. Alex even helped scrape the ice off her windshield and then they talked for 45 minutes waiting for her car to defrost. The two instantly clicked! Not realizing how long it had been, they had to part ways and Michelle drove Alex back into work. Michelle got a message from Alex once she got back to her apartment and the rest is history! Michelle flew to San Antonio the next day, but was stuck there for a week due to the ice storm. Alex and Michelle talked for hours every night and all night on the phone. Finally, when Michelle made it back to Dallas, Alex picked her up from the airport and they’ve been inseparable ever since! This is truly a story of being in the right place at the right time and what is meant to be will be!
