Todd and Michelle's first date was almost three years ago, on January 3rd, 2015. They decided to meet at a local whiskey bar, in Westport, called Julep. Todd's flirtatious-wit kept Michelle laughing all night as they sipped on whiskey neat. The evening was going well, so well in fact, that they continued their date at Ale House, down the street. The love-struck couple closed down the bar and ended the night (filled with shots and dancing) with a kiss. They fell hard and fast: a first date led to a second, a friendship grew into love, and a journey to forever began.
Todd has taught me to be gentle with my words and sensitive towards others. He has shown me how to give people the benefit of the doubt and to look at the glass half full. I admire his passion and determination to be a good person everyday. I know that I am a better person with him and I can't wait to be his wife.
The way she makes me miss her. It's just what she does through everyday actives, her words, her personality. Even though she may not know it, I am always thinking about her. At the end of a long day it is her that brings me home. Plus she loves to watch football and scary movies with me.
Todd knew Michelle would be hard to surprise so he took his time in asking her. He had picked out a rose-gold engagement ring and planned to propose on their upcoming vacation. Hidden in his dorky fanny pack, the ring traveled to South Lake Tahoe, where it stayed until the Fourth of July. After a day filled with hiking, parasailing and horseback riding they made their way to the beach. As they waited for the fireworks to start, Todd got down on one knee and asked Michelle to marry him. She said yes, the champagne popped, and the wedding planning began!
