Summerland
Summerland, a small town just south of Santa Barbara/Montecito, is where our apartment is located. We moved to our spot in Summerland in 2019 and this one street town has become very special to us. Check out Summerland Beach Cafe for brunch/lunch, The Nugget Bar and Grill to eat and drink with the locals, Summerland Winery Tasting Room for some great local Pinot Noir, or bring a Tinker's Burger down to Summerland Beach.
The Funk Zone
Our favorite area to head to after a day at the beach. Tons of local breweries, wine tasting rooms and great restaurants. Favorite Breweries: Topa Topa Brewing, Figueroa Mountain Brewing, Validation Ale Favorite Wineries: Skyenna, Pali Winery Eats: Lama Dog, Lucky Penny, Loquita, Santa Barbara Fishhouse, The Lark, Shalhoobs Cocktails: Test Pilot
Boathouse at Hendry's Beach
Great restaurant located right on the beach. Sometimes a long wait especially on the weekends but a to-go margarita in the sand makes the time pass quickly!
Santa Barbara Wine Country
Santa Barbara County was named Wine Region of the Year for 2021! Close to Michelle's hometown of Lompoc the Santa Ynez Valley is about 45 minutes from Santa Barbara and is home to many beautiful wineries. Worth a day trip for those here for an extended weekend with the option to book a local tour out of Santa Barbara or make the trip via rental car.
Santa Barbara Sailing Center
Great option for booking a sailing cruise. Also a place to rent kayaks or stand-up paddleboards.
Stearns Wharf
A popular spot for those visiting Santa Barbara for the first time. Check out Deep Sea Wine Tasting Room for the some of the best views of Santa Barbara while sipping a glass of wine.
