This is our favorite spot for snorkeling. Get here early during high tide to see the best ocean life in clear turquoise waters. Parking will be tricky if you get there after 9am. It feels like swimming in an aquarium at a nice Chinese restaurant. Tons of reefs to dive down to and enjoy. Great for beginners too - Frankie barely swallows any water here and he doesn't even mind when his snorkel fills up because the fish are so colorful it distracts him.
Perfect little island to explore. There's camping, picnic areas, and shallow snorkeling places. You will need a water way to get to this place either by kayak, paddle board, ferry, or your own boat if you're loaded. There's also some interesting history surrounding this place involving a former US president and his bunker. Before we got our paddle board Frankie and I made the treacherous journey on an inflatable Corona raft (not recommended).
Driving down A1A with the windows down is an experience for both the driver and the passenger(s) in the vehicle. Depending on which direction the car is heading you are sure get an eyeful of pristine ocean views scattered with skinny palm trees or mammoth mansions that make your mind water with new app ideas and potential inventions that you just never got around to creating.
Nice place to get breakfast / brunch / lunch right on the pier overlooking the beach. After your meal take a stroll down the strip and enjoy the beach - if you're lucky you'll spot a kite surfer in the distance. This is the beach we bike to from home when we're feeling like we need a strenuous adventure from being big fats all week.
