Michele: During the pandemic, a friend mentioned that she thought I would like Travis. She described him as a happy, easygoing, nice brother which sounded great, but I didn’t know how I would meet him since we were in the middle of a pandemic, and he is a Bethelite. Because of that and because we had different social circles, much time passed before we met. But once Bethel opened back up to commuters and I was able to work there again, I was able to observe him. Travis: Meanwhile I was praying to find a loving, kind, generous sister. Michele: I finally, worked up the courage to ask others about him. The few people I spoke to said such amazing things about him! Then, one day, my friend Chevi invited me to spend time with her and her boyfriend in his room. And there Travis was! I wanted to get to know him a little better and noticed he was pretty quiet. So, I asked Travis to show us pictures from his recent trip to Germany. Travis: I didn’t think too much of it but did think she was nice. Michele: Then I asked a mutual friend who worked with Travis about him. The plan was she would show me around their shop and ask Travis to make us coffee. Travis: We didn’t say much but I did have a feeling Michele was interested and thought maybe I would be too. Michele: I finally asked him to join a group of friends for dinner, and Travis happily accepted. Now it was his turn to observe me! Travis: Though we didn’t speak much, I saw some of the qualities in her that I was looking for and I was becoming interested. Michele: Thank goodness I like the outdoors because after that, he began inviting me on hikes. Travis: I liked how easily we got along and that we had similar interests. Michele: After a few hikes, I realized we just clicked. It was so easy being with him. And when I compared him to my long list of qualities I was looking for, he checked virtually every box. I really couldn’t believe it! Travis: I was feeling good about how things were going so, one night, after Bethel Watchtower study, I followed her into the parking lot and asked if I could get to know her better. Michele: I prayed to Jehovah about Travis earlier that day. I said if he asked me out, I would say yes—and there he was, asking. I immediately said yes! Travis: From that moment on, we spent nearly every day together. Michele: And I soon realized I finally found the one! Travis: And I realized I met the woman I wanted by my side for life. We will be starting our lives at Wallkill Bethel and hope that you visit us! 🩷
