Things To Do

Whether this is your first time visiting the Windy City or tenth, there is never a shortage of exploring to do. Here are suggestions based upon the season and our favorite things to do. We would love to recommend other spots depending on what you're in the mood to do.

Lincoln Park Zoo

Bundle up and walk around Chicago's zoo, just across the park from Hotel Lincoln. It is free during the day, or buy a ticket for a favorite holiday tradition - ZooLights - from 4:30 - 9pm.

Lincoln Park Conservatory

2391 North Stockton Drive, Chicago, IL 60614

A beautiful historic glass house right next to the hotel. It is filled with thousands of exotic tropical plants—a perfect warm escape if November is chilly. (Note: Free, but requires booking a time slot online in advance).

Chicago History Museum

1601 North Clark Street, Chicago, IL 60614

Another of Michele's faves! Located just a few blocks walk from the hotel, this museum showcases the city's rich past. It is an ideal, indoor daytime activity to explore everything from Chicago's famous blues and jazz roots to the story of the Great Chicago Fire.

Architecture Boat Tour

Michele's favorite activity & the best way to see the city. Even in late November, the boats run with comfortable, heated indoor decks so you can view the world-famous skyline from the river. There are a number of companies to choose from but Wendella always delivers!

Millennium Park & The Bean

Head to The Loop to see Chicago's most famous park & sculpture. By late November, the park is beautifully decked out for the holidays with the city's official Christmas tree and a public ice skating rink.

Christkindlmarket

Chicago's famous, authentic German holiday market is free and open all weekend! Grab a hot mug of Glühwein (spiced wine), a fresh bratwurst, and browse handmade ornaments. There are two locations: The Loop is the downtown original or Gallagher Way at Wrigley Field for a more relaxed neighborhood vibe.

Armitage & Halsted Shopping

Take a short walk or a quick ride to explore these intersecting streets, lined with gorgeous historic brownstones, local coffee spots, and upscale boutiques.

Small Business Saturday in Andersonville

Spend the day exploring Andersonville (our neighborhood!), known for its historic Swedish roots and independent businesses. Some of our favorite spots are Andersonville Galleria, ENJOY, Transit Tees, and RAYGUN.

Hopleaf

5148 North Clark Street, Chicago, IL 60640

Tony's Favo(u)rite Place! A world-famous Chicago tavern right in the heart of the neighborhood. It is strictly 21+ and features an incredible, massive menu of Belgian beers and great pub food.
