Our wedding will be held at Leaping Deer Ranch in Sapello, New Mexico, about 20 minutes north of Las Vegas, NM. Detailed directions will be provided closer to the date, along with signage to help guide you once you're nearby.
The closest major airports are: -Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) – about 2 hours away -Santa Fe Regional Airport (SAF) – about 1.5 hours away (limited flights) We recommend renting a car if you're flying in. Things are sometimes far from each other, and having your own transportation will make things much easier.
We suggest booking a room in Las Vegas, NM, which has several charming and convenient options. We recommend staying at the La Casteneda Hotel or historic Plaza Hotel. Additional hotel information is provided on the Travel page.
-Creative Black Tie with a Western Flair: Think elevated and festive. Feel free to break out a touch of Western charm: bolo ties, cowboy boots, fringe, suede, or hats welcome. Glamorous meets cowboy chic. -The ceremony will be outdoors on uneven terrain, so comfortable shoes are a must (cowboy boots welcome). The reception will be held indoors. October weather in Northern New Mexico can be unpredictable—pack layers!
We’re currently working on arranging transportation between Las Vegas and the venue. Check back for updates—we’ll post details here and send reminders via email and text closer to the wedding weekend.
It’s typically crisp and sunny during the day (mid-60s) and cool at night (30s–40s). Be prepared with a jacket or shawl, especially for the evening festivities under the stars.
Yes! Kids are welcome, and we’ll have a few activities to keep them entertained during the reception.
The ceremony will be held outdoors on the ranch with beautiful views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The reception will be held indoors in the ranch's event space

The main event is on Sunday, October 19, but we’re planning a Welcome BBQ on Saturday (10/18) and a Post-Wedding Brunch on Monday (10/20). We recommend arriving by Friday afternoon for weekend wedding festivities and staying through Monday morning. Feel free to arrive early or stay longer if you wish to explore the area.
Yes, cell service and wifi will be in abundance
Yes, but parking at the ranch is limited. We recommend carpooling if possible. We will also be offering rides from Las Vegas, NM to the ranch as needed.
For those traveling from out of town or would like to carpool, there will be a shuttle that picks up at the Hotel Casteneda in Las Vegas, NM at 1:00pm. The shuttle will then take guests back to their hotel and cars after the reception.
