Nick started attending the Bible study Michele was attending. He immediately thought she was cute. We became really good friends through our church community. After a little over a year of friendship, we went on a hiking trip to the Smoky Mountains with our close friends Scott and Maggie. While on this trip, sparks flew, and Michele said yes to a first date with Nick.
On November 6, we went on our first date to Thai Vegan (one of Michele's favorite restaurants) and watched The Bourne Identity (one of Nick's favorite movies). After several dates, Michele invited Nick to a Baylor football game to meet her two best friends, Bailey and Kirsten. Nick passed the test and we officially became boyfriend and girlfriend. In February, we went on vacation to Salt Lake City, Utah for a Spurs game and hiking. While on this vacation, they both knew this was who they were going to marry. Being the risk adverse accountant that he is, he proposed 8 months later.
Michele has always wanted to go to Grand Teton National Park so we planned a vacation for the end of October. Nick knew this would be the perfect place to propose. While watching the sunset on his birthday, Michele asked if he had a great birthday. Nick said yes, but it would be even better, if you agreed to be my wife. He then got on one knee, pulled out her ring, and popped the question. She said yes!
