Question

Is Mexico City dangerous?

Answer

The population of Mexico City is over nine million. When you are in big cities, you have to use big city rules — like knowing where your stuff is at all times.

Question

Can I use US dollars?

Answer

No — never. Use the banks at the airport (we recommend BBVA or Banorte) for pesos/cash withdrawals. (Be sure to let your bank know you will be traveling in Mexico in advance.) American Express is difficult to use, but all other credit and debit cards are readily accepted. Mexico is mainly a cash/pesos society, taco stands and most local vendors will only accept pesos/cash.

Question

Should I use Uber or a Taxi

Answer

In Mexico City, Uber is the best, safest, and least expensive option. Unless you are highly versed in Spanish and can negotiate while giving directions, stick with Uber. LYFT and other ride shares are not available, you will need to download the UBER app before leaving the US.

Question

To mask or not to mask?

Answer

Masks are required in closed locations while entering and exiting. The ceremony and party is an outside space, so only required when arriving.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The category is: Bohemian Chic Wedding Realness. Please wear WHITE dress shirts, dresses, jumpsuits, or pantsuits paired with colorful accessories. In general, Mexico City is similar to New York City when it comes to fashion. Shorts and sandals are not encouraged in the city, light layers are your friend, and umbrella is generally not necessary.

Question

How much pesos should I withdraw?

Answer

For the reception, the only need for pesos/dollars is during the CASH DANCE :) For the after party, you can use credit or pesos. For Hangover Brunch on the Boats we recommend around $800-1000 pesos depending on how much you drink and eat plus contribution to the tips for the boat steward. Most all restaurants and bars accept pesos, street vendors, churros and most market style or street shopping will not accept credit cards.
