We started chatting and noticed we have the same taste in video games and started playing together more often and introduced him to my clan and Mike. When I told him I was moving to Houston, he didn't believe me until I arrived in front of his house. That was the BEST real-life meeting EVER. Once Mike came, we became a family of gamer BFFs. He made our transition here SO easy! The rest, is history. This newlywed lives with his beautiful wife Andrea and their family right here in Houston, TX.

If there could be a photo in the dictionary for the word "compassionate," her portrait definitely fits! This retired neurosurgery nurse spent most of her life serving the community by making sure everyone received the best care possible. The best part? I get to call her Mom! She taught me to be independent, resilient, and mostly, compassionate. That explains the GOOD part of my behavior. I always try to make everyone I encounter feel that they have a safe space with me, no matter the circumstances. Sadly, she passed away in December 2011 just four days before her 61st birthday. She will be honored and represented by her twin sister Ronnie Sue, her two best friends, Deborah Brown and Jackie Ducksworth, and my sister Jeannene Musgrove. You'll notice them on the front row where she would be, beaming with pride.

Father of the Bride
Known to all as Jr. Floyd, this man was a bad MF and everybody in Hattiesburg knew it. He was and still is to me the epitome of bravery, perseverance and integrity. A huge reason why I am the way I am is because of him. According to my mother and sister, we're just alike. I can't see it, but I do know that I always kinda wanted to be like him: Tough, fearless, an overall badass that doesn't take shit from anybody. But he was a hero in my eyes; a wonderful father and a great role model. He passed away in May 2002. I'm sure he would be proud of the woman I've become and the officer I am. One thing I developed that I believe came from him is the ability to make myself relatable to others. Here's a tip: People are more likely to open up if you can relate to their situation.
