We met back in High School. Over the years we saw each other at mutual friends' events but never really connected, the timing just wasn't right...not just yet. Fast forward to 2016, at our friends Russell and Veronica's wedding shower we ended up at the same table. We talked and laughed so hard I cried the entire time. Michael then asked the couple to seat us together at the reception. (sneaky) We were at the table together but didn't get to spend too much time together. Thank goodness Michael was persistent.
I (Amber) walked into Starbucks for my shift Thanksgiving Day 2016. To my surprise Michael was there in line getting drinks for his family on his way to spend the holiday. He asked me if I was going to be there late and if so, he would bring me some actual Thanksgiving food to eat. Sure enough he was a man of his word and showed up at the end of the night with a plethora of food for me. We then hung out after watching Top Gun, talking, and laughing. The timing was right this time.
Michael planned a tattoo appointment for Amber Friday the 13th (one of Amber's favorite days). When the artist lifted the stencil, it was not the tattoo she thought. Surprise: it was a picture of Jack and Sally that said, "Will you Marry me?" Michael was down on his knee when Amber turned around. She said YES! When the real tattoo was completed, Michael had yet another surprise. They next attended an engagement party that Michael had planned with so many of their best friends. It was an incredible night neither of them will ever forget.
