The wedding is coming up quick, please RSVP ASAP!
For the ceremony and lunch, we would love for you to arrive in your best semi-formal or formal garden party attire. Ladies, think mid to floor-length dresses in spring colors. Gents, don't shy away from pops of floral and spring colors too! The dinner meetup and after party will be more casual attire. Think jeans, cute tops, casual shirts/polos.
The ceremony and lunch reception both have strictly limited capacity. If you have been allocated a +1, it will be indicated on your RSVP.
This is an adult-only celebration, with the exception of children specifically named on the invitation.
We recommend staying in the Fisherman's Wharf/North Beach area. Union Square and Civic Center are also options but can be a bit rougher of an area at night, and are farther away from where the bride and groom will be staying. Though the ceremony takes place at City Hall (near Civic Center), the lunch and evening activities are concentrated within walking distance to the Fisherman's Wharf area. This area offers great access to a wide array of SF site seeing and activities you might want to check out while in town as well! Michael Anne and Patrick will also be staying in the Fisherman's Wharf area the night of the wedding. But no sweat either way as Fisherman's Wharf and Union Square/Civic Center are about a ~15/20 min drive from each other. We have links to discounted hotel room blocks and some additional guidance on the "Hotels & Travel" page of the website.
Friday lunch will be provided. This meal will be gluten-free and include vegetarian options. Friday dinner will be an optional BYO takeout picnic. Alternatively, if you're not down to picnic, feel free to enjoy any of San Francisco's many dining options and join us afterwards at the bar! Saturday morning, we'll be meeting up for brunch. We'll have bagels and coffee, but feel free to pick something up and join us!
Unfortunately, absolutely no dogs will be welcome at any of the wedding events.
City Hall security includes metal detector and bag screening before entry. Please leave pocket-knives, pepper spray, and weapons at home. Here is a list of prohibited items: https://www.sf.gov/information--prohibited-items-and-activities
We won't have any shuttles but there are many ways to get around San Francisco! It's about a 10 minute drive/15-20 minutes bus or train ride between each of the events. We'd recommend public transport, but Uber/Lyft, and now self-driving options like Waymo offer a simple way to get around.
Near SF City Hall, there will be paid parking at the Civic Center Garage and paid street parking. If driving, plan plenty of extra time for finding parking and walking from your parking spot. Near the reception, there will be paid street parking. Keep in mind that hotels often charge high fees for overnight parking.
There are many ways to get around San Francisco including public transport, renting a car, Ubers/Lyfts, and now self-drying taxis like Waymo and Zoox! If planning to rely on public transport, look for hotels that are nearby a Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) or Muni line. The way you pay for public transport is with a physical or digital Clipper Card (similar to the MTA subway car in New York). If you're new to San Francisco, we'd highly suggest reading this guide for how to get around: https://www.sftravel.com/info/transportation-basics-how-to-get-around-san-francisco Additional Advice: The easiest way to get to and from SFO airport would be to use Uber/Lyft or a taxi cab service. Uber and Lyft have their own apps but the services are essentially identical. I’m less familiar with taxis here, but typically an Uber from the airport is ~$40-$60. In San Francisco, you can’t really hail a cab in the street but there are several taxi companies (Flywheel, ABC Taxicab to name a couple) that you can call directly or book through separate apps. The SF MTA has a list of the options here: https://www.sfmta.com/getting-around/taxi/directory You can also catch the BART (i.e. the subway) from SFO airport which will bring you into the main part of the city, but you’ll need to transfer to a bus to get to the Fisherman’s Wharf area (if that’s where you’re staying). For trips between City Hall and the Fisherman’s Wharf area, the best options would be Uber/Lyft or public transport. To give a sense, it’s about a 15 minute drive, 30 minutes bus ride, or 50 minute walk. Once in the Fisherman's Wharf area, you're within walking distance to where we'll be meeting up for the casual dinner and afterparty on Friday night. It's about a 15-20 minute walk.
