We’re getting married! (Finally!)

It all started with Catholic Match. Both of us having joined it, in last ditch efforts to find maybe something real. For Tanya, she joined as she was in a college bible study and all the girls had been married, engaged, or in relationships- she was the only single one. The other girls had joked and said that she should get on Catholic Match. Tanya was skeptical as in the past things just never worked out. To play along with the joke, Tanya joined, with low expectations. For Michael, he had looked for love in all the wrong places and had just gotten out of the military and was getting back into civilian life as well as growing his faith. Catholic Match seemed appealing to him to find a person who would support him in his journey of faith. After three days of being on Catholic Match, Michael’s profile popped up. Tanya had seen that he lived in Aberdeen- he was only 90 minutes away (Tanya lived in Watertown at the time)! She didn’t do anything though as she wanted to see if he would reach out first, and sure enough, Michael did… When Michael saw Tanya’s profile, he said “Huh, this girl is pretty! I think I will message her to see who she is and how she is”. Well, Michael shot his shot; he messaged Tanya and she replied! The conversation began and continued- it eventually lead to making plans to go to Mass and dinner together that weekend ( Tanya was going to be in Aberdeen that weekend and everything was just aligning). The rest is history; shortly after our first date in February of 2023 we began dating. Because we lived in two different cities, we took turns going back and forth on weekends. We got engaged that August, and Tanya moved to Aberdeen that October. December of 2023 Michael and Tanya found out that they were pregnant, and wedding planning was put on pause. Fast forward, Elsie JoAnne is born in July of 2024 and Michael and Tanya decided to begin wedding planning again. So. Here we are. We are SO excited to celebrate our special day (FINALLY) with everyone! God is Good; so, so good!! -Tanya and Michael
