Blue Ridge Parkway: One of the most scenic drives in the country and offers numerous hiking trails with incredible views of the Appalachian Mountains. Many of the trails are easily accessible from the Parkway and vary in difficulty. The Mountains to Sea Trail: Folk Art Center to Haw Creek Overlook is one of the closest, moderate hikes that offers a stunning overlook. DuPont State Recreational Forest: Known for its waterfalls and diverse ecosystems. The trails here range from easy to moderate and lead to scenic waterfalls and lakes. Recommendations - Triple Falls Trail, High Falls Trail, Lake Imaging Loop, Big Rock & Cedar Rock. Pisgah National Forest: A bit further out, but offers some of the most rewarding views. Recommendations: Looking Glass Rock Trail, Looking Glass Falls, and Black Balsam Knob.
