Our Story

Michael and I met in 2017 at Drakes in Lansdowne. Our first date was a cold January day at a restaurant in Downtown Lexington. He pulled up to pick me up in his big ole' black Ford pickup truck, opened the door like a gentleman and we jammed to country music all the way there. That night we ate pizza, drank, and chatted for hours. At the time, Brody was 9 months old so I say we chatted for hours but I was totally home by like 9 pm so my babysitter (my bridesmaid, Melissa) could leave. Anyways, we hit it off and I was completely smitten! I sold Michael (and Woodford) their first home that spring and really, the rest is history. Since that first date, Michael became the luckiest "Daddy Michael" to Brody, we added 2 dogs to our family- Willa and Waylon, we've taken family vacations to Florida, spent countless days at the farm playing in the creek, spent countless nights chatting and laughing our way through life, bought our dream home on a little slice of land last Christmas and we survived Quarantine 2020! God sure knew what he was doing that first night we met at Drakes and I could not be more thankful he picked me to be this man's wife and forever role model and dad to B! -Sierra

The Proposal

Sometime very early in our dating I knew, in my belly I just knew she was the one. And I was nothing but more sure as she stood by me during several ups and downs and trials and tribulations that was the first year or so of our dating. 2019 was a year of growth in our relationship and our lives, culminating with the purchase of a new house on some land in the country. It was time to stretch the dogs and our legs by leaving the neighborhood we lived in. We had just moved into our new house and were still getting settled early in 2020. I am a man that has always known what he wants and is confident in my decisions. Time to listen to my heart and gut, sneaking around behind Sierra's back shopping for a ring proved challenging. Sierra and B mean the world to me and it was time to make it official, the new house was about to become OUR new home. I was not willing to wait any longer. Valentine's Day 2020 I went back to a store that I visited a couple times looking at rings. 20 minutes later I walked out with what I think is an amazing representation of my love for her. After calling my family to tell them I bought the ring I called Sierra's parents. I am bad at keeping secrets and not wearing my emotions on my sleeve, I had to go ask their permission immediately. Thankfully they gave me their blessing, and I sincerely appreciate the words we shared. Keep up we are still less than 2 hours since ring purchase. Sierra and I decided to go to our favorite mexican restaurant with Brody to celebrate Valentine's because where else do you take your 3 year old? When we got home I told Sierra we were building a fire in our fire pit, one of our favorite family activities. Brody was thankfully distracting her enough for me to pull out the ring and get down on one knee and ask the most important question I will ever ask. I have never been more confident in a statement in my life... except it was a question for her, and the decision was hers. My stomach was a wreck. SHE SAID YES!! -MCP
