In the Spring 2001, Nashville Centennial Park hosted a Come Together Day event. Shaneithia, her cousins, and a friend were heading to the event. Shaneithia was heading westbound on Broadway, while Michael and his friend were heading eastbound, their paths crossed on Broadway between 13th Ave S and 14th Ave S while in traffic. Two passengers in a car locked eyes across one lane, sparked a connection. Michael signaled Shaneithia to pull over, and they exchanged numbers in a White Castle parking lot. Their friendships developed naturally, without labels or expectations. As Shaneithia traveled, they frequently swapped phones due to her Cricket cellular services. In 2004, Michael gradually pulled away during Shaneithia college years at Tennessee State. They eventually had no more connection. In 2008, Michael and Shaneithia rekindled their connection which blossomed into a profound friendship. As they shared their stories and supported each other's growth, their connection deepened, leading to a new chapter in 2013. In 2017, they courageously took the first step towards a life together. On September 25, 2021, as the General Jackson riverboat cruised along, Michael turned a casual couple's night out into a memorable moment. A heartfelt toast to express his love for Shaneithia and ask for her hand in marriage, surrounded by the warmth, love and support of several loving couples. Now, they stand ready to embark on a lifelong journey led by the Lord, surrounded by loved ones, on September 28, 2024. "What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder."
