It all started on a trip to Puerto Rico, where mutual friends introduced us. Between exploring the island’s beautiful scenery, trying new foods, and sharing plenty of laughs, we quickly discovered how much we enjoyed each other’s company. When the trip ended, they decided to stay in touch and before long, decided to continue dating. Despite it being a "medium-distance" relationship, Mike made regular trips to visit Sarah while she was studying at the University of Illinois. During the early days of their relationship; right in the midst of COVID lockdowns. Sarah and Mike made the most of their time together by taking weekend trips to nature spots and interesting places. Those adventures became some of their favorite memories and helped them grow even closer, all while building a wonderful circle of friends along the way. Eventually, they took the next big step and moved in together in Chicago, Illinois. Their relationship flourished as they built their life side by side in the city, with new jobs, friends, and experiences. A few years later, they returned to where it all began—Puerto Rico. Surrounded by the same beauty that first brought them together, Mike got down on one knee and asked Sarah to marry him.
