FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! Primarily, you should wear anything that makes you feel comfortable (there will be lots of dancing) and beautiful (gotta look cool for those Tiny Desk photos). Beyond that, we encourage semi-formal attire category -- suits and ties, and longer dresses.

Question

I have a food allergy. Can I make a request?

Answer

Yes!! Please make any and all dietary restrictions known to the couple as soon as possible! There will be a vegetarian entrée and vegan appetizers served.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We have wedding blocks for two hotels listed on the Travel Page. However, feel free to stay anywhere you feel comfortable. DC is a small city. Wherever you stay will be a short walk, metro ride, or car ride from the venue. All events are in the NoMa neighborhood in Washington D.C.

Question

When should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Doors open at 3 PM -- please arrive early!. Security must check in each guest. We suggest arriving no later than 3:30 PM to check in, find a seat, and relax into the festivities.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony?

Answer

We have 40 spots allotted. Please let us know ASAP if you require a space so that we can put your name on the security list. Thank you!

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Though it can feel nice to buy a physical item, our priority is not tangible items--it's homeownership! We are grateful for all contributions to our first home down payment fund.

Question

How should we get to and from the ceremony?

Answer

If your accommodations are not within walking distance to NPR, we highly recommend using DC's great metro system or using a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft. The bus is a bit less reliable. If you're flying, we strongly recommend flying in and out of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) is also an option, but is at least an hour drive from the venue.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

No. We're excited that this weekend will be a break for caregivers, so they can let loose before returning to parenting duties. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to capacity constraints, Mookie and Rebecca focused on creating a guestlist of people with whom they both already share a special bond. Thank you for understanding!
