Rachael and Michael were both living in San Francisco's Nob Hill neighborhood when they first met. After spending an August night out with friends trying to arrange a meetup, they finally got together and learned that they lived a mere two blocks apart! The pair quickly learned about a shared love for red wine, competition (ask Rachael about their Pop-A-Shot battle), and insisting that the other one pick what to have for dinner. When Michael suggested Thai food on an early date, Rachael excitedly jumped on board...not sharing that she was not a fan. A few dates later, Michael had half a sandwich stolen by a dog during a picnic...but hid his frustration knowing Rachael is a huge dog lover. After nearly a year of dating the couple moved into their first apartment together on Beach St. in San Francisco's Marina District. This apartment housed Rachael & Michael's first Christmas together, played venue to birthdays & dinner parties, and hosted family on the date of their engagement.
The morning of August 3rd, Rachael thought she was getting ready for a brunch date with Michael and his brother, Dominic. When Dominic called and said he was running behind on time, Michael suggested they take a morning walk down to Crissy Field Beach. Since coffee and beach strolls were a regular outing for the two, Rachael thought nothing of it. On their walk to the beach, she spent most of the time trying to convince Michael that the chili-cook off going on at Crissy Field that day would be an afternoon well spent. Little did she know, he had more ambitious plans for the day. Upon their arrival to the beach, as predicted by Michael, Rachael sat down on the blanket giving him little space to take a knee. Finally when Rachael stood back up, Michael had his chance! On one knee he asked Rachael to marry him. They are lucky to have had this moment captured by Dominic and spent the afternoon with their parents celebrating their love and their exciting future as husband and wife!
