The wedding will be outdoors, in a grassy area with some mid-sized fruit trees for shade. As the wedding date approaches, we will monitor conditions to ensure we have the right infrastructure and supplies for our wedding guests' comfort.
The dress code is garden party semi-formal. Here are some ideas: Midi, maxi, or tea-length dresses. Lightweight button-down shirt (long or short sleeve) with slacks Trousers or khakis with optional blazer or sport coat. Short-sleeve collared shirt paired with dress pants or chinos. A white/light-colored shirt (or suit) and tie with dress pants. We encourage light and breathable fabrics like chiffon, cotton, or linen, given the weather conditions. Colors, pastels, or floral patterns are also encouraged. Please dress comfortably, as we will be outdoors. We will also be on grass, so be mindful of your footwear and heels.
It is usually warm and sunny in June. Sunset is around 9 p.m. that day. Average lows are 53 degrees F and highs are 86 degrees F during the day. After sunset, a cool breeze will flow through from the canyon.
We want everyone to enjoy the food! Rest assured that our caterer is prepared to accommodate our guests' dietary needs. If you have a dietary restriction, please let us know when you RSVP.
You're so thoughtful! While we'll have room for cards at the reception, please ship physical gifts to the following address, as our space is limited: Payton Babb 6209 W Oraibi Dr. Glendale, AZ 85308
We want to be upfront about accessibility limitations at our venue. Parking: Parking has a ramped pathway from the street to the venue. Please let us know when you RSVP if you need this ramp, so we can make sure to reserve a parking space for you closest to the venue and accessible via this ramp. Seating: Seating will primarily be over a grassy area, which can be a challenge for some wheelchairs. We're happy to reserve you a spot on firmer ground if that works better - just let us know when you RSVP. Restroom access: Restroom access currently requires navigating a few small steps. We are looking into providing a temporary ramp to make the restroom more accessible. Please reach out to discuss the type of accommodations you need so we can ensure our wedding is accessible to you.
Street parking is available in the neighborhood surrounding the venue. It should be easy to find a spot, though you might have to walk a short distance. If you have difficulty walking short distances, please let us know so we can work on an accommodation for you. Uber and Lyft should not have any trouble accessing the venue, and carpooling is always a great option, too!
Mostly planning a wedding! But other than that, Payton is a nurse working as a clinical project manager, and Mike is an aerospace engineer. Because Payton works from home in Phoenix, the plan is for her to move to Tucson with Mike. Outside of work, we love hiking and backpacking, traveling, trying new restaurants, and can't wait to spend a lot less time driving back and forth between Phoenix and Tucson! After the wedding, we plan to honeymoon in Jackson, Wyoming, to explore Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone. Shortly after, we'll be attending the FIFA World Cup in Seattle. It's going to be a great year!
