How We Met

september 11, 2017 the tailgate...

Juice: We met at a Broncos tailgate. I was helping one of my best friends, Heather, move her stuff out of storage and onto a moving truck to ship her back to Boise after pharmacy school. During the move, Heather was invited to the Broncos game. There wasn't a second ticket for me, but ticket or not, I still wanted to join the pre-game shenanigans at Cody's tailgate party. Unbeknownst to me, one of my pharmacy professors, whom I had admired from afar but had never actually met, was there too, oh snap! Bearman: PK is one of my best friends in Denver, and has been sharing season tickets with my brother Ted for several years. He failed to mention that there would be a spectacularly gorgeous single girl at the pregame tailgate he had arranged for us to go to to that sunny day on 9/11... Juice: Well, PK didn't know Heather and I were going to be there until we were. I was excited to be hanging out with my professor from pharmacy school; it felt like I was hanging out with a celebrity LOL. Anyways, PK was getting to know me and somehow my relationship status came up. PK was like, "alright, we're going to find you a man tonight!" He starts looking around and points to Mike and asked, "what about him??" As handsome as I thought Cowboy Mike was, I passed because I thought he was too short hahaha. PK still introduced us and Mike offered up a slice of Tony's pizza. My eyes lit up like the emoji with heart eyes...his stock just went up. I suddenly realized that he was actually average height hahaha Bearman: After my usual non-observant self eventually saw her, I thought to myself, "OMG, is this a model tailgate?! (Her friend Heather is very good looking as well). When I finally worked up the courage to talk to this beautiful creature, I asked PK to introduce us. I offered up a slice of Denver's finest, Tony's, cheese pizza. I seem to remember her becoming more engaged at this point hah. We had a great conversation. To be continued...

How We Met Part Deux

the tailgate continued...

Bearman: She came to tell me that she might be taking a job back home in California and leaving in two months. I knew that the game start time was fast approaching, so I tried to think of a creative way to ask for her number. Somehow the best I could come up with was, "well, uh, I'd love to get your number if you might ever feel like hanging out for the next couple months, anyway..." Surprisingly enough, it worked. Juice: So I waited and waited. By Tuesday, Heather was asking if he had ever reached out. I laughed and said he probably wasn't going to, I mean it's Tuesday, like almost two WHOLE days have passed hahaha. By midday Wednesday I received a text!! Apparently he needed a few days to recover from Sunday's shenanigans. Bearman: I did. I really did need a couple of days to recover. It was the home opener. From that Wednesday on, we have been inseparable.

For all the days along the way
