The Wedding Website of Michael Hammer and Nolan Jez
Our ceremony and activities will all be in Dresden, Germany. Dresden is accessible via cars, trains, busses, and intermittent flights. We highly recommend checking out Frankfurt, Berlin, and Prague (Czech Republic) as your arrival airport. All major cities have excellent options with regards to trains, rental cars, and everything in between!

Hotel

Gewandhaus Dresden, Autograph Collection

1 Ringstraße
Dresden, SN 01067, Germany
 +49 351 49490

Conveniently located in historic Altstadt which is in the center of all the action. This hotel is less then half of a mile (600m) away from our planned shuttle stop. Here you will find the vast majority of markets, bistros, bars, restaurants, and sights to see. Currently, we are seeing rates around $150/euro/night.

Hotel

Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden

Taschenberg 3 Kempinski
Dresden, 01067, Germany
 +49 351 49120

You can't miss with this one! Also located in Altstadt, this fine property fits right in with the historic landmarks and palaces. This hotel is a 5-star property so if you plan on staying here, it will be expensive but hey, probably worth it too!

Hotel

Courtyard by Marriott Dresden

25A Stauffenbergallee
Dresden, SN 01099, Germany
 +49 351 81510

Affordable and familiar, located in Dresden Neustadt (new town). This hotel is the closest hotel to the venue but will NOT be a location for our wedding shuttle. This hotel would be ideal for those wishing to drive to and from the ceremony.

Train

Deutsche Bahn (Trains)

This is the better run, more on-time, and nicer version of Amtrak. Traveling by train might be overwhelming right now but you can trust us, it is the easiest and quickest way to get around! Everyone on the train and at the station speaks english and trains can take you directly from the airport lobby to within walking distance of your hotel. Check out the routes to and from your destination and setback and relax as your travel across the country. For those wishing to travel to other locations, Hpt or HaupBahnhoff stand for main/central station.

Flight

Airports

Dresden can be reached through different airports, we recommend one of the following: - Frankfurt am Main (FRA) will have the most flights, about 4.5 hours to Dresden - Berlin (BER) is the closest international airport, about 1.5 hours to Dresden - Prague, Czech Republic (PRG) is another international airport, about 2 hours to Dresden - Dresden Airport (DRS) is right outside the city but will require you to connect through another city

Rental Car

Sixt rent a car

Our favorite car rental service in Germany, please keep in mind when booking that manual transmissions are the standard in Germany and an automatic vehicle will have to be booked specifically. You do not need any special permits to drive as long as you have a US issued license.

Travel Note

Visa Note

Germany and the European Union do not require American passport holders to have a visa, so a passport and an airline ticket will be everything you'll need for your trip. Feel free to spend up to 90 days in Europe and discover Germany and the other 25 member states after the wedding.

Travel Note

Time Change

Please note, Germany is 6 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time. When traveling to Germany from the US you will lose six hours but when returning you will travel time and if your plane is fast enough you could go back into the past.

For all the days along the way
