Chelsea is Niki's sister and first best friend! Chelsea is the best older sister and role model anyone could ask for, even when she would get mad at pre-teen Niki for taking clothes out of her closet. Niki loved getting to be Chelsea's MOH (sobbing when Chelsea came down the aisle, included), and is so excited to have Chelsea as hers!!
Lester Cheng
Best Man
Lester is one of Michael’s younger brothers. He is the “responsible” brother, and the Cheng family hopes to one day retire at Lester’s future estate. Always the mediator growing up, Michael is proud to have learned patience and compromise from the chillest Cheng brother. Lester likes seafood, xiao long bao, and has two dogs, though one might be a horse.
Kate Edwards

Kate and Niki have been bffs since the first day of Summer PE before freshmen year of high school (15 years ago???) - everyone thought they were long-time friends (they showed up the second day with matching painted nails - each nail a diff color), when in fact they'd just met. When they're together, they are constantly laughing at seemingly nothing. They're both glad they found husbands who can keep up!
Newton Cheng
Best Man
Newton is one of Michael’s younger brothers. Newton is the “smart” brother and the Cheng family hopes to one day move Lester’s future estate to our own private time-space dimension of Newton’s creation. Always the baby brother who flatly refused to be the worst at anything, Michael is proud to have learned persistence and ambition from the most intelligent Cheng brother. Newton likes boba, winning, and has two cats.
Lauren Sinik
Bridesmaid
Lauren and Niki have been besties since middle school, where their love for making each other laugh began during recess walks around Bleckley field, and continued as goalielauren511 and laxteexdaxteexda on AIM. A classic Lo & Niks mess around includes: driving around East (sorry, Lauren) Wichita, taking pics, and laughing at things that happened 1 time 6 years ago. Her contagious cackle makes it impossible not to join in when she's laughing.
George Savvides
Groomsman
George was Michael’s first friend after moving to Wichita because they were both late to class on the first day of Junior year. George was generous enough to drive Michael around for a whole year while he was still car-less, so that they could be late to things together. Michael and George have been best friends since, and are still late to many things. George is goofy and brave - he once ate a stranger’s abandoned pizza crust on a San Francisco street corner.
Carlin Hill
Bridesmaid
Carlin and Niki have been best friends since middle school, after bonding in the orchestra's cello section. You may remember seeing them sing a duet at Stars in 2012, or as bride and bridesmaid at Carlin's wedding in 2018 - two equally important life events for the pair. To know Carlin is to love her and Niki is so lucky to have her as a friend for life!
Dan Vu
Groomsman
Dan is one of Michael’s classmates from East High. One of Michael’s first friends in Wichita, the two bonded over an absurd sense of humor and degenerate activities. Best friends since then, Dan has been a treasured travel companion and consigliere. Dan once succeeded in applying for and securing a credit card for his overachieving dog Roscoe.
Emily Phillips
Bridesmaid
Emily and Niki met during law school at UC Irvine and became instant best friends. Bonding over the pain that is law school, the pair quickly found relief in regular happy hours and complaining sessions. Emily and Niki spend a lot of time laughing, especially when Emily remembers obscure TV and movie quotes and reenacts entire scenes (don't hesitate to ask for her impression of the chipmunk from Enchanted).
Sidney Eugene Buttrill IV
Groomsman
Sidney is one of Michael’s classmates and best friends from Hong Kong Academy. He was Michael’s first friend after moving to Hong Kong because their class was literally six people. They bonded over video games, cheating in Chinese class (sorry to Michael's mom, their Chinese teacher) and Lan Kwai Fong. They still play games together today and sometimes pretend they’re back in Lan Kwai Fong.
Amy Abshier

Amy and Niki met at UCI Law and became besties during what Niki would call the worst decision ever, and others might call a Remote Learning 17-Unit Semester. Amy and Niki immediately connected over their shared experience as ~former dancers~ and love for Disneyland. Michael likes to joke that he thought Niki was a great friend to people until he met Amy, because she really is the best there is!
Kyle Charles
Groomsman
Kyle is one of Michael’s classmates from East High. Kyle was one of Michael’s first friends in Wichita, discovering their shared taste in books and music. Kyle took Michael to his first rap show (Chance the Rapper opening for Childish Gambino at a tiny, now defunct venue in KC) when they were but wee teenagers, and have since had the time of their lives across dozens of concerts and festivals.
Elizabeth Weis

Michael and Niki would like to publicly thank George for the light in their lives that is Elizabeth. Elizabeth became a fast friend of the bride and groom when she started dating George in 2016 (big year for budding romance), and now they are lucky they get to see George when they intentionally hang out with Elizabeth. Lol, JK, we love you, George. <3 They love Elizabeth for her kindness and attentiveness, and for the time she made sure they didn't die on a very hot Sacramento hike.
Jay Scott
Groomsman
Jay is one of Michael’s best friends and roommates from the University of Tulsa. They bonded over video games and… horticulture. Jay is Michael’s most steadfast adventuring companion, ready to drop it all for an impromptu trip across the Pacific (e.g., the time he bought a ticket to Hong Kong on a whim because Michael said, "hey you should visit Hong Kong") or to Pokemon Stadium at a moment's notice. Jay is also best friends with Bacchus, one of Michael and Niki's cats, pictured above.
