Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

July 17, 2024

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

30 minutes before the beginning of the Wedding Mass, which starts at 12:00PM

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Men should wear dress shirt, shoes & pants. Suit jacket with tie preferred. No jeans, tennis shoes, sandals, shorts, hats, t-shirts, shades or any other casual attire. Women should dress in accordance with the official St. Leo's Oratory dress code. Details below. Veils are preferred but not required. St. Leo's Oratory Official Dress Code: "The virtue of modesty must be observed, especially in consideration of the sacredness of the space and the holiness of the sacrament. These considerations should guide the choice of the gowns of the bride and bridesmaids. The following are not permitted: a. Sleeveless and low-cut tops b. Exposure of the back and shoulders c. Dresses and skirts which are not sufficiently long to cover the knees when seated. (N.B. sheer nettings and laces do not count as coverage.) As deviations from this policy are not permitted, the couple must contact the Oratory office for approval if they doubt whether their choice of attire meets these requirements. Also, glitter on clothing should be avoided, as some inevitably falls to the ground, and is removed only with great difficulty from between the planks of the church’s hardwood floor."

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Yes

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes. Please include immediate family when you complete the RSVP so we can get a proper headcount.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes. Please contact the bride or groom with your requests by the RSVP deadline to ensure we can meet your requests.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, though the St. Leo's Oratory parking is small. You may park by the curbs of the surrounding streets. The parking lot for the reception is more than adequate.

Question

May non-Catholics receive Holy Communion during Mass

Answer

While we would like everyone to be able to receive the Eucharist during the Mass, only practicing Catholics, in a state of grace (not in mortal sin), may receive Holy Communion during Mass. To receive Holy Communion in a Catholic Church is a profession of faith in the Roman Catholic Church. To receive without meeting these conditions is a grave matter. Please see Code of Canon Law 840-848 & 912-923 for more details. For those not meeting the conditions to receive Holy Communion, blessings will be offered at the communion rail for anyone that would like to receive one.
