Hey everyone! First off we want to say thank you for being patient with us as we figure out the best way to celebrate with all of you. For the time being we wanted to update you on some amazing milestones. We bought a house on August 3rd 2020 in the sweetest little neighborhood. The house is gorgeous and now filled with 3 furry pets. The biggest news of all, baby Maverick is here! He was born on January 27th and is the sweetest boy. Again, we can't stress enough how grateful we are that we have the most amazing family and friends. We couldn't imagine celebrating this moment without you so we hope to see you on December 18th in Vero Beach, Florida!
Maggie lived in Florida, Mike lived in Georgia. There was a presentation set to take place in Birmingham, Alabama on November 8th, 2018. For nearly 5 months, Maggie and Mike worked on this presentation together through email and google slides, never hearing each other's voice or seeing each other's face. November 8th came before you knew it. Mike stood next to his good friend Carl, in front of a room full of people, presenting their data. Maggie sat in the audience in awe.. "This is the man I have been collaborating with for the last 5 months?" Fast forward 9 hours later and they met for the first time at Cahaba Brewery. And now October 17th, 2020, in Vero Beach, FL, you will celebrate, that night in Birmingham, Alabama.
Sunday morning, November 17th, 2019, Mike and Maggie are in their home in Charlotte, North Carolina. They were getting ready for their Sunday Funday! Starting with a run around the neighborhood and then a drive to the grocery store. On the way home from the grocery store they passed a homeless man at an intersection with a sign, "God Bless". Maggie and Mike turned the car around and delivered the man a couple of bags of snacks and a gallon of water. As they returned home, Maggie unpacked the groceries and Mike disappeared. Full disclaimer: Maggie admits to being upset that Mike did not help with the groceries. As she turned around from the cupboard, with an attitude, Mike was on one knee with Clifford (The Cat) in one hand and a small box in the other. Before he could speak, Maggie was already crying and said, "YES!"
