Getting to Shelter Island & Transportation:

Shelter Island is a beautiful escape between Long Island’s North and South Forks. You can get here by car ferry—either the North Ferry (Greenport) or South Ferry (North Haven). Only cash is accepted on the ferries and there may be a 5-10 minute wait. To get to the North Ferry in Greenport, turn from Front Street (Rt. 25) to 6th Street and follow signs for the ferry. The South Ferry is accessed from North Haven (Sag Harbor) by taking Rt. 114 directly to the ferry. The ride is only about 5-10 minutes, and ferries run until around 1am in the summer. If you're coming without a car, take the LIRR or Hampton Jitney to Greenport, then walk across the street onto the North Ferry. Please know that there are no Ubers or Lyfts available on the island, but there are local taxi services if you need a ride to/from the wedding or other events.
