Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

If possible, we would prefer to receive all RSVPS by May 10th, 2024 so we can have an accurate headcount to give to our vendors and planner. All RSVPs can be submitted via our website's RSVP page. The area where we're getting married can be a popular vacation destination in the summertime, so we recommend checking out our travel page ASAP to plan your trip if you intend to make it for the wedding :)

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to budget and space limitations, we simply can’t afford for all of our lovely guests to bring an extra guest of their own. In the spirit of keeping our wedding as intimate as possible, we have curated our guest list with intention and ask that guests please not bring a plus one unless they are specifically named on your invitation. Thank you so much for understanding!

Are kids welcome?

Answer

As much as we love your little ones, we will not be including them in the ceremony or reception. Our venue has an age minimum requirement for guests in our rental contract.

What should I wear?

Answer

Our suggested attire is Creative Cocktail. Feel free to be bright, bold, and beautifully you. Most importantly: Don’t forget your dancing shoes! Both our ceremony and reception will be on outdoor decking, so block heels or wedges are recommended over stilettos for safety, comfort, and rocking the best dance moves all night long. Since it’s a warm outdoor/ Summer wedding we recommend easy, breezy fabrics like cotton, linen, and satin or silk. For the ladies, any length dress is fine! For the fellas, full suits are great if you want to look fly, but they’re not required.

Where should I park?

Answer

Parking is limited at our venue, so we recommend that you carpool with other attendees if possible, or coordinate a ride-share to our cabin. There are Lyft and Uber options available from most areas of Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg. Please don’t drink and drive, especially if you’re not used to navigating gravel mountain roads! When you arrive by car (yours or another), you will come through the entrance gate and up the driveway, and pull around to park near the far side of the cabin. There will be marked wooden walking path that will take you directly to our ceremony deck. On arrival, please follow the signs that guide you to this ceremony path, and do not come to the front door of the cabin or through the main house/ attached reception deck so that our amazing event crew can get set up without interruption. Thank you!

When should guests arrive?

Answer

If you're not in our wedding party, please plan to arrive at Cielito Lindo between 4:30 and 4:45pm so that we can start our celebration on schedule. We ask that guests do not come before 4:30 unless specified with you otherwise. Around 4:45pm, live prelude music and a ceremonial sound bath will be performed by the bride's sister in law and talented local sound healer, Anneli Virkhaus. We wouldn't want you to miss it! The bride's entrance to the aisle is the same path that you walk down at entry, so please don't be late if you'd like to be included in this part of the wedding. Our ceremony will begin promptly at 5pm.

Where should I stay?

Please check out our travel page! We have included a Google search link for area hotels, some unique nearby camping/glamping suggestions, and a customized Air BnB Search if a cabin or cottage is more your style. We did not reserve any specific hotel blocks for wedding guests since everyone has varied preferences for amenities, location, and price. When searching, we are closest to the towns of Sevierville and Pigeon Forge.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

The average temperature in Sevierville in August for a typical day ranges from a high of 87°F (30°C) to a low of 65°F (18°C). We expect it to be warm and hopefully the mountain air keeps it from getting too sticky ;) Rain is always possible in the South, but not too likely (There's an average of 33% chance of summer rains in August that are light to moderate.) We’ll post updates here if rain is in the forecast.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony and reception will be outdoors, with gorgeous views of the Smoky Mountains. If rain is in the forecast, we'll move the reception indoors.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Answer

We kindly request that everyone UNPLUG DURING THE CEREMONY, turn your phones off, and refrain from any photos or videos. Our photographer will have it covered so you can tune in and feel the love. Your full presence is the greatest gift! However, we would love for you to take photos DURING THE RECEPTION and share them here and to social media under our wedding hashtag: #GoldenLoverSummer
