Question

Can we bring our children to the ceremony & reception?

Answer

We love your little ones and they are such an important part of our lives. However, we kindly ask that our wedding be an adults-only celebration. We hope this gives you a chance to relax, enjoy the evening, and celebrate with us to the fullest. Thank you for understanding—it means so much to us!

Question

Can we bring a plus one?

Answer

We have reserved seats for only those listed on your invitation due to our venues capacity. Thank you for understanding—we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be outdoors on the beach, and the reception will be outside on the patio. We recommend bringing a jacket or shawl--the average daily temperature in September is in the mid 70s, however in the evening it can get chilly!

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask for an unplugged ceremony—our photographer will capture the moment for us all. Please put your phones away and just enjoy being present.

Question

Can we bring our kids to the lake for the weekend?

Answer

Absolutely! Even though the event itself will be adults-only we encourage people to bring their kiddos up to the lake. Hills Resort is an amazing family getaway and we encourage everyone to make the most of their trip to this incredible place. Reach out to us and we can coordinate childcare for the night of the wedding!

Question

Where is the ceremony and reception being held?

Answer

The ceremony will be held at the lakeside area right below our lodging block! The reception will take place at the lodge on the outdoor patio followed by dancing inside.

Question

Where should we eat if we are staying for a long weekend?

Answer

Hills Resort offers an all day menu for those who prefer not to travel elsewhere or cook in the cabins. Other great options nearby are: Elkins Resort and Millie's. Priest Lake is beautifully remote--the closest small supermarket will be The Tamrak.

Question

What should we bring up to the lake?

Answer

Be sure to bring your favorite lake day essentials, including swimsuits, towels, sunscreen, and any other beach gear you enjoy. Beach or camp chairs are also a great idea for relaxing by the water. We encourage guests to pack some snacks and beverages, as access to a standard grocery store is not conveniently available from the resort. There is a small market nearby (The Tamrak) that has basic essentials but if you have specific preferences on your snacks and drinks we encourage you to bring them with you! If you plan to cook meals in your cabin while visiting please note the last larger scale supermarket you will find is a Safeway in Newport, WA. If you'd like to explore the area, there are hiking trails accessible directly from the resort, so consider bringing appropriate hiking shoes, clothing, and any gear you may need. For those interested in recreational activities, athletic clothing and footwear are recommended for pickleball, volleyball, and other outdoor games.

Question

What are some things to do in the area?

Answer

If you want to go on a hike or a run directly from the resort we recommend: Beach Trail Woodrat Trail #235 If you are up for a little drive to hike here are our favorites: Lakeview Mountain via Reeder Bay (approx. 17 min drive from Hills) Lions Head Creek Trail (approx. 1 hr 15 min drive from Hills) ~this hike includes natural water slides! *All of these hikes are listed and easily navigable on AllTrails. Other activities that you can enjoy in and around the resort: Swimming at the beach Kayaking and paddle boarding Beach volleyball, pickleball, or tennis on site Boating and waterskiing Fishing for lake trout (mackinaw) Huckleberry picking
