Our Story

First Comes Tinder. Then Comes Marriage.

We met at the Unicorn on March 8, 2016. Little did Michael know it was Lily's 25th birthday, and she decided to spend it with a stranger she had just met on Tinder. From the moment we locked eyes we can honestly say it was love at first sight. It was surreal and truly a magical night. Lily had just two weeks left in Seattle before heading back home to Austin. It was very clear to us that we liked being around each other so we spent every moment we could of the next two weeks hanging out and exploring the city together. It felt like we had known each other all our lives. When the time was up we said our goodbyes, but we knew in our hearts the connection we had was special and it was only just the beginning. For the next two years we traveled back and forth to see each other. Doing long-distance wasn’t easy, but we knew it wasn’t forever. We had a date, and in December 2017 Lily finally made the move to Seattle. It was Christmas Day when we awoke to a winter wonderland in OUR new home.

The Engagement

It was no surprise, but hella romantic!

We had talked about the engagement months before. He never mentioned the location, until one day he gave himself away without even realizing it. A heads up for all the men out there, you can’t ask a woman if she wants to get dressed up to take pictures at a tulip festival, and her not suspect anything. Though she knew the location, she had the timing all wrong. We had talked about going the week before, and she was sure she would come back from her weekend with that ring on her left hand. But because of the heavy rains, Mike had changed his mind and postponed their day trip to the following weekend. The next week the rain continued, and Mike was feeling unsure about the entire thing. On April 17th, 2019 the sun finally came out after weeks of non-stop rain. We drove out to the festival. The tulips stood high with their saturated bulbs shining bright against the beautiful blue sky and mountain backdrop. We walked out to the fields, and stopped midway where he gave Lily a letter he wrote for her. Though she knew this moment was coming, she could barely read the letter holding her tears back. He then bent the knee, and she said Yes!

It’s happening!

We're beyond excited for you all to be on this life-time journey with us, and hope that you can come celebrate the beginning of forever with us at our wedding in Tulum, Mexico! So get your bikini bodies ready, cause the countdown to beach time begins now!
