How We Met

Fishing online

MIchael was browsing the internet for chicks, just like he did on any slow night after a busy day at the grind, Suddenly, his attention was captured by a picture of a beautifully tan and dark haired beauty. He thought to himself, "I bet she would love to get on my boat." He anxiously sent her a short but sweet note about why they would get along so well, and her response, "Sorry, I am in town for work, don't live around here, and don't really even use these apps." She was so sweet in her rejection to him, but he would not be defeated so easily. After a few more exchanges they could both tell there was some kind of connection. They messaged for the next couple of days back and forth, speaking mostly about their shared love for the ocean, fishing, and friends. Within the first couple of days his phone rang with an unfamiliar number that might as well have been from outer space. He knew it was her, he debated to answer, he knew that if he answered this phone call that it would set in motion the workings of the greatest relationship mankind has ever seen. Their first phone call lasted the better part of 3 hours where, at the end, each of them understood what the rest of their lives would look like together. They had decided to retire on an island together, but first they had to build the rest of their lives with each other. She got on his boat and the rest is history!

The Proposal

6.1.2019

Michael and Lauren had embarked on a week long vacation with Michael's family. When they arrived Lauren was anxious to touch the sand and jump in the ocean but not for long cause Michael had other plans. She knew this would be a special week but she had no idea how special! Their first evening on the island Michael suggested they take a sunset cruise on the boat and of course get the poles wet with a little fishing. The two of them set off for the evening and found a fishing hole in the bay. While Lauren was fishing for reds, Michael turned on one of their favorite songs and got down on one knee on the boat, just them, the ocean, and the mullet jumping. Lauren said YES just as the sun was setting and rest of the week was spent celebrating with friends and family!
