Things To Do

We're so excited to share some of our favorite places in the area with you.
Bolton Landing

Bolton Landing

Bolton, NY

The quant, small town of Bolton Landing offers a number of shops and restaurants situated along Lake Shore Drive. Pick up breakfast from the Sunrise Cafe, check out the knickknacks at Happy Jacks and the Indian Teepee Gift Shop, grab lunch at Frederick's (order the semi-hoopes chicken wings!), have a beer at Bolton Landing Brewing Co., an ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s, and stroll down to the water through Rogers Park. The Sagamore Resort is located in Bolton Landing. We recommend stopping in for a drink by the water to enjoy the stunning views of the lake. The resort has a spa, a golf course, and a few dining options.

THE VILLAGE OF LAKE GEORGE

THE VILLAGE OF LAKE GEORGE

The Village of Lake George has all the feels of a popular summertime family vacation destination. The sidewalks are filled with tourists and the streets are lined with t-shirt shops (check out "Local"!), candy stores, mini golf courses, and arcades. We recommend enjoying a bite to eat at one of the pub grub spots along the lake's southern tip and getting your sugar fix in at the Lake George Baking Company. For additional things to do in the area, check out the site below. https://www.lakegeorge.com/things-to-do/ The Village of Lake George is located about 5 minutes south of The Inn at Erlowest.

GETTING OUT ON THE LAKE

GETTING OUT ON THE LAKE

If you're spending a few days in the Lake George area and are interested in getting out on the water, there are a handful of ways to do so. Rent a boat for a day! A Google search will return a number of marinas that offer daily boat rentals. Make sure to reach out if you decide to rent a boat and Lauren and Mike will share a few spots around the lake to check out. Go on a cruise! Lake George Steamboat Company has a few different tour offerings. These tours will provide some history of the lake and views that you won't be able to find from the shore. Rent a kayak, canoe, or stand up paddleboard! A Google search will return a number of companies to rent a kayak, canoe, or stand up paddleboard from. Go parasailing! There are a few parasailing companies located in the Village of Lake George. Get high in the sky and take in the unparalleled views of the lake and surrounding Adirondack Mountains.

ADDITIONAL OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

ADDITIONAL OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

Go on a hike! If you're up for the challenge, Buck Mountain Trailhead is one of Lauren and Mike's favorite views. This hike is 6.6 miles round trip so be sure to pack plenty of water and snacks. If you're up for something less strenuous, Shelving Rock Falls is another favorite. This is a 3.4 mile wide path that will take you to a waterfall and lakeside. Fun Fact: Lauren & Mike took the photo that is on the back of the save the date after hiking up Buck Mountain! Take a swim! There are public beaches located in Bolton Landing and the Village of Lake George. Many of the lakefront lodging options have access to the water as well.

SARATOGA SPRINGS

SARATOGA SPRINGS

Saratoga Springs is located about 30 minutes south of Lake George. Known for horse racing at Saratoga Race Course during the summer months, downtown Saratoga Springs also has a number of boutiques and eateries worth visiting. During the week leading up to Labor Day, races at the horse track will be taking place daily during the afternoons on Wednesday through Monday. The bride and groom may plan an event out of this on Saturday, August 17th. More details to come.
