How We Met

08.22.18

Kristina and Michael met in the most traditional way... they swiped right! After chatting on the Tinder dating app for about a week, Michael knew he had met someone special and asked for Kristina's number. For their first date, they decided on what would eventually become one of their favorite places to eat (La Fiesta). After an amazing dinner full of endless laughter and surprisingly little eating and drinking, Michael and Kristina rapidly grew their relationship from the coy texts of an early relationship to small novel-sized texts they exchanged constantly until they could see each other again.

The Proposal

01.26.19

Kristina and Michael talked about marriage very early in their relationship. On the day of the proposal, Kristina was working a full shift.. Michael and Kathleen (Kristina's mother) arranged for Kristina's co-worker Tashia to come in early to relieve her, and for Mairim (Kristina's Maid of honor) to "treat" Kristina to lunch and a mani-pedi (Michael was behind this as well.) While Kristina enjoyed lunch with her mother, Mairim, and Mairim's mother Miriam, Michael was practically buying out all of the flowers, and candles in the local stores for his grand scheme. On the way back to Kristina's house, Mairim took a "back-road". When they finally stopped, they were at Sweetwater Creek Park. Michael came over and led a shell-shocked Kristina down to a spot right in front of the creek, where he had candles aglow and bouquets of flowers surrounding them, and he dropped down on one knee and popped the question. Kristina of course said yes!
