We met our Freshman year of college at Longwood University, after Kendra's roommate offered up Michael to take them to Walmart. Michael was one of the cool kids (from out of state) who was allowed to have a car on campus. We developed an interest in each other, Michael more then Kendra, at first. From there, we created a really strong friendship. For over a year, we kept things simple, until one night, in that Jeep, we had the official "relationship conservation". We exchanged real "I love you's" - and have been for the past 10 years.
We had been planning a 10-day trip down the coast of California - and our first stop was San Francisco for a friend's wedding. On our last night in the city, Michael suggested a hike down to Kirby Cove in the morning (which is an amazing spot with great views of the Golden Gate Bridge). We began walking along the beach, taking pictures, until we reached a small nook along the coastline. Behind an old tree, sat some of our great friends. When Kendra turned back around, Michael was on one knee. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you. See you in Virginia!
