FAQs

The Wedding Website of Kelsey Lunt and Michael Thom
If you have any other questions outside of what we have listed here, please contact Kelsey at 585-406-1468, or Scott, our travel agent, at 585-366-0313 regarding any travel concerns.
Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

YES, you need a passport to travel to Costa Rica! We recommend doing this as a first priority; passport applications and renewals often experience delays and your passport must not expire within 6 months of travel. Check your travel documents ASAP to make sure your passport will be valid for travel.

Question

When should I book my room/ flight?

Answer

You may book whenever it is most convenient for you; we recommend tracking the room rates and flights on Google to determine when sales may happen or when prices go lowest since there is plenty of time before the big day to book! We recommend having your room booked at least a couple months in advance to make sure there is still availability.

Question

Do I have to use the provided travel agent?

Answer

We recommend using Scott for room bookings to make sure you are included as part of the wedding party, but you are welcome to book your own flights using points or your preferred airline if you would like to book that part separately. Likewise, there are some people who are priority Marriott members who will be attending; Scott has informed us that he is still able to utilize your Marriott status if you book through him unless your status is through your employer. Reach out to him with any questions!

Question

Can I bring my kids with me?

Answer

We are respectfully asking that kids not be invited; the resort is family friendly but the wedding will be adults-only.

Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

Mike and Kelsey will be flying in Wednesday, March 8th and staying for a week after the wedding. The wedding ceremony and reception is Saturday, March 11th and there is a minimum requirement of a 4 night stay at the resort. Most people will be arriving Thursday, March 9th and leaving Monday, March 13th, but you are welcome to stay longer if you wish!

Question

Is there a dress code for the wedding?

Answer

No! Feel free to wear whatever is comfortable for you! This is not a "black tie" event though we are sure some people will choose to be dressier and some people will choose a more casual look. We just want you to have fun!

Question

Can we golf at the resort?

Answer

Absolutely! If you are a golfer (and there are a few of you!) feel free to bring your clubs as the resort has a beautiful golf course attached! We believe there is a small additional charge to utilize the golf course but you get a better rate as a guest of the resort.

Question

If we can't make it to the actual wedding will there be a celebration beforehand?

Answer

Yes! We are planning a small "stag and doe" party in Rochester prior to the wedding to celebrate with those who are unable to attend. There is absolutely no expectation to attend so please don't feel obligated- we simply wanted to make sure that those who receive invitations knew that we wanted them to be a part of our special day. And to those who come across this page who didn't receive an invitation- please don't be offended! Destination weddings are exclusive and limited based on the resort so we were only able to offer a certain number of actual invitations. We would still love to celebrate with you at our Stag and Doe!
