When must I RSVP by?

Answer

We kindly ask that you RSVP by 03/18/2026. After this date, RSVP will be closed and submissions will no longer be accepted.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation specifies a "+1" or you have been given the option to RSVP for a guest, you are welcome to bring a plus one. Otherwise, we ask you to attend solo.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Our only request is that you please wear semi-formal attire for the ceremony and reception. Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses. Our wedding colors follow the spring theme, with light pastel colors. Such as, light pink, light blue, rose gold, and sage green. Please refrain from wearing any denim material.

What is a Kum?

Answer

Role of the Kum: The role of the Kum is that of the witness, a spiritual advisor that helps to protect your marriage. The Kum enters into a family relationship with the couple, a role akin to that of a Godparent. Our Kum Jordan Andric will eventually serve as a godparent to our children.

What is skup?

Answer

The skup is a central part of a traditional Serbian wedding, marking the beginning of the festivities before the ceremony. This wedding tradition involves enjoying traditional Serbian dishes, drinks, music, and dancing.

Why are Michael and Kayli crowned during the ceremony?

Answer

The rite of the crowning is the apex of the wedding service. The crowns are representative of the glory and honor with which God crowns the couple during the sacrament. The Bride and Groom are crowned as queen and king of their own little kingdom, which they will rule with wisdom, justice, and integrity.

Why do Michael and Kayli drink out of the chalice and walk around the table during ceremony?

Answer

The couple will drink wine, representative of the blood of Jesus Christ, from a chalice to symbolize that they will be sharing the happiness and sorrows of life together. They do this three times. Then, the priest will lead the bride and groom three times around the table on their first steps as a married couple.

During the ceremony, why is everything done in threes?

Answer

Throughout the service, everything is done in threes in remembrance of the Trinity (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit). The three-finger formation (with thumb, index, and middle finger brought together) used by those of Serbian-Orthodox faith represents the Holy Trinity, as well. You will see this as they cross themselves.

Who are the men holding flags?

Answer

These are our flag bearers. They lead the way for the bridal party and are celebratory of those that have come before us. We are proud of our heritage and family. Serbian flag: For Michael's family who originates from Serbia. We are proud to carry on these traditions. American flag: For Michael and Kayli as they are proud to be American born and raised.

What is the linked dancing?

Answer

Kolo is a traditional, collective folk dance performed by dancers interlinked to form a chain, usually moving in a circle holding hands. It is performed to the accompaniment of music during private and public gatherings and plays an integrative social role, involving all members of the community (in this case all of you!). Yes, there is free on-site parking for the ceremony and reception!
