It’s finally happening!

Sometimes the best things happen when you least expect it. I have had a crush on Michael for as long as I can rember, but who would have ever thought it would be anything more than “a crush on my friends older brother”. July 6,2009 a friend of mine posted pictures from a July 4th party that she attended… & if you know 2009 Michael you know he was there without a doubt. I saw the picture she took with him, searched to see if he had a facebook…he didn’t…yet….thinking I was in the clear of making a fool of myself I commented “I’m so jealous you got a picture with him”. Meanwhile, he was making a facebook solely to see these pictures, sees my comment, the friend asks “why?”, to which he responds “I bet I could tell ya”….*insert embarrassment here*. He makes the first move & messages me, making it clear that he knows I’ve had a crush on him for years. He asks me out, I found every reason to avoid a date. After over 6 months of his persistence, I gave in… & the rest is history. Our relationship hasn’t always been easy. We’ve been through it. We’ve learned to depend on one another in some wildly unexpected circumstances. Together we had to let people out of our lives that were toxic to our relationship. We have been told that our relationship wouldn’t last. I was told “Mike doesn’t do the serious thing.. be careful”.. I’m sure he heard similar things about me. Together we have made it through the unimaginable, and built a beautiful life loving each other in all our forms every step of the way. Learning to forgive, to love in a way neither of us had loved before, & about ourselves as well as one another. It wasn’t always easy…but it was always worth it. We cannot wait to see where our story goes from here, and what unexpected chapters will open for us. We are thrilled to finally be celebrating our love and become 1 (officially… legally) with our children on our special day!
