Oceanside is a very walkable beach town. Check out the Oceanside Pier, the longest over-water wooden pier on the West Coast, head to the beach, or rent bikes and cruise The Strand. Make sure you stop by the "Top Gun" house located right in front of the Mission Pacific Beach Resort! On Thursdays the Oceanside Farmer’s Market is on from 9am-1pm and the Sunset Market 5pm-9pm - both providing great local food and shopping options.
Oceanside is filled with great food & beverage options. Check out Valle, the Mission Pacific’s Michelin Star restaurant, or Dija Mara, a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant for Balinese inspired cuisine (one of our faves). 333 Pacific’s steak and seafood menu won’t disappoint, and the rosemary bread with honey butter and flourless chocolate cake are so good. Cococabana offers a fun rooftop Caribbean-style cocktail bar with small bites. For a happy hour spot where you can catch the game and a casual meal, head to Local Tap House. Craft Coast or Sancho’s Tacos are where you can enjoy delicious tacos and beers. For your morning coffee go to Camp Coffee for somewhere close by, or Vigilante in South Oceanside to enjoy it with a morning walk.
Featuring a permanent collection which chronicles the history of surfboards and wave-riding (Kelly Slater & Bethany Hamilton's boards are both here!). The museum also offers many revolving exhibits each year, comprising one of the world’s richest troves of surfing history.
Annie’s Canyon Trail is located in Solana Beach and is one of the best short hikes in all of San Diego County. The trail takes you through towering sandstone walls that begin to narrow into a slot canyon, and it's under 2 miles long - aka Katie & Michael approved.
One of the most scenic spots in Southern California (especially at sunset), Torrey Pines offers multiple hiking trails, gorgeous views of the ocean, and sandy beaches with fun tide pools.
San Diego is our favorite big city in California. The well-manicured streets of downtown San Diego are filled with museums, parks, historic landmarks, sophisticated restaurants, mom & pop cafes, upscale shopping, and small boutique shops. Just outside of downtown you'll find beaches filled with sea lions that you can kayak with at Mission Bay, or observe from the cliffs above at La Jolla Cove.
