Our Engagement Video
It all began in the most unexpected of places—a virtual prayer space. It wasn’t a matchmaking app, or even a chance encounter at a coffee shop, but a digital prayer circle where two souls found each other. It was 2021, the world was navigating uncharted waters, and for Michael and Kareisha, it was the beginning of a beautiful connection. Kareisha, a spiritual guide, was hosting a prayer space that was open to anyone who needed peace, encouragement, or just a moment of serenity. Michael, seeking a deeper connection to faith and community during the difficult year, stumbled upon the space. What started as a shared commitment to prayer and spirituality soon evolved into a friendship that neither of them expected. They would meet weekly in the circle, sharing reflections, offering prayers, and slowly, over time, sharing pieces of their hearts. It didn’t take long for Michael and Kareisha to discover that they were more than just prayer partners. They realized that they had a lot in common: a shared love for poetry, a deep connection to their faith, and a mutual appreciation for life’s simple joys. But the real kicker came when they started talking about where they lived. Michael, who lived in California, was surprised to learn that Kareisha had once lived only 15 minutes away from him! In fact, her daughter now lived in a neighboring town, and they had probably crossed paths more times than they could count. It was as if the universe had been slowly pulling their stories together long before they ever met. Their connection grew, and soon they found themselves leading the prayer space together. They supported each other through prayer, laughter, and deep conversations. But, as life often does, it threw a little twist their way. Michael had to make a trip to Phoenix, and Kareisha, ever the gracious host, offered to pick him up at the airport. What was intended to be a simple and friendly gesture turned into an unexpected first date. As they spent time together, they discovered even more about each other: their favorite foods, the music that got them through tough times, and the quiet moments they both cherished. It felt easy. It felt natural. Like two pieces of a puzzle finally snapping into place. And from that moment on, everything changed. They began to see the world not just as individuals, but as partners—ready to celebrate life together, to learn and grow together, and to embrace the beautiful mess that life can sometimes be. They continued to find new ways to connect, from deep philosophical conversations to spontaneous poetry readings. They reveled in each other’s company, learning to love not just each other, but also the life they were building together. For Kareisha, Michael brought a sense of calm and unwavering support. He’s the kind of person who’s always present, always listening, and always encouraging. He’s her rock and her biggest fan. For Michael, Kareisha has been a beacon of light—her strength, wisdom, and humor are things he never knew he needed, but now can’t imagine living without. She has taught him to appreciate the small moments, to embrace joy even in the middle of chaos, and to keep growing.
As they come together to celebrate this next chapter, Michael and Kareisha are filled with gratitude. Gratitude for the journey that led them here, for the lessons they’ve learned, and for the love that has only deepened with time. They know that they’re not just joining hands—they’re joining families, cultures, and dreams. And with all of that, they’re ready for whatever life has in store. As they come together in celebration, they ask that you incorporate the color yellow into your attire. Yellow represents joy, light, and divine energy—it is the color of the sun, of renewal, and of spiritual enlightenment. It is a symbol of the warmth and light that faith brings into our lives. Just as yellow brightens the world around us, we believe that the love and joy shared on this day will radiate from each of you, filling the space with abundant light and warmth. It is a reminder that, in both good times and challenging moments, we are all held together by the divine light of Christ Jesus that guides us, supports us, and brings us closer. So, as they unite in love, they invite you to wear yellow as a symbol of the energy and light that surrounds us all. We can’t wait to see you shine! Here’s to love, laughter, poetry, and prayer. – Michael & Kareisha
