Michael and Jubilee met on a dating app called Mutual. They each only had it for a few days when they matched on June 17, 2021. Michael messaged Jubilee, praising her Tetris high score. Jubilee messaged back, impressed by his witty bio and photos. It was a connection like no other, proven by the constant messages from that point on. About a week later, they had their first date over Zoom. Another week later, Jubilee booked tickets to fly from Tulsa, OK to Meridian, ID to meet Michael. They shared their first hug in the Boise airport on 07/14/2021, with their favorite third wheel close by (love you Sage!!!). That Friday, July 16th, they shared their first kiss on top Camel's Back Hill while watching the sunset. They celebrated by slow dancing to Lover by Taylor Swift and Space Song by Beach House under the stars. For 11 months they took turns flying to one another and barely missing a day of FaceTiming. On June 6th, 2022, Michael began serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Arizona and Paraguay. For 22 months, Jubilee and Michael were only able to e-mail each other on Mondays. No phone calls... just pictures, videos, and LONG journal messages. Through this time they learned sacrifice, loyalty, independence, and most of all, trust in the Lord. Jubilee drove across the US (and back) to welcome Michael back home on April 12, 2024. Michael proposed on June 12th, 2024 by surprising Jubilee in her apartment, arriving a day earlier than he told her. Thanks to the distraction of a fancy dinner with Sage and the help of her parents and the photographer, Jubilee was fooled and totally surprised. They spent Michael's 22nd birthday officially engaged. The days of 1500+ miles separating the two lovers are soon over as they are excited to begin married life in Tulsa, OK. Jubilee will be graduating from OSU Marketing & Management in 2025 and Michael will begin nursing school with a focus in care for the elderly.
