Jesse and Michael met in 6th grade at Spinning Hills Middle School. It was the first day of class for Michael in Ohio. They had the same class schedule and quickly met and became aquantances. Michael claims that the first time he saw Jesse, he knew he liked her. Over the school year they became friends and gradually grew to be best friends. By the summer before their senior year, they had developed feelings for each other. They admitted these feelings at a park in their neighborhood, and they starting dating that day, on July 7, 2015.
Fast forward about 3.5 years. Michael asks Jesse to go for a walk around the block, which is a quite common activity for them. He leads her to the park where they started dating and brings up memories from that day. He kneels on one knee, gives a speech that Jesse can’t remember, and asks her to marry him. Surprised and flustered, Jesse laughs uncontrollably and hugs him and says yes. It definitely wasn’t the most graceful proposal, but neither of them really care. Once they had returned to Jesse’s house from their walk, both of their families were waiting to surprise her. She had no idea they were going to be there. The families had wedding-themed shirts and desserts to celebrate.
Now, they are eagerly awaiting their wedding on May 9, 2020. The wedding is exactly one week after they both graduate from Wright State with their bachelors degrees (Jesse in mechanical engineering, and Michael in psychology pursuing a doctorate in physical therapy,). They know it’s going to be stressful, but they wanted time to move out, go on a honeymoon, and just enjoy being newlyweds before Michael starts graduate school the same month as the wedding!
