Is this a wedding?

Dear reader, it is not. We were married in a small ceremony at the Chicago City Courthouse on February, 23rd of this year. But, we always wanted to have a party to celebrate with family and friends, so here we are!

So it's a reception? Three months later?

Answer

If you want to think of it as one, sure! There's no itinerary, or planned speeches, or center pieces, or garters being bitten off - but there will be food, drinks, and (potentially?) some dancing.

So, tell me about parking

Answer

The restaurant has a parking lot behind the building that will be available for use. There are also options for street parking. Keep in mind that we are celebrating on a Saturday night, so parking may fill quickly. We recommend ride sharing and/or carpooling where able.

and what's the vibe of the venue?

Answer

We'll be celebrating at a Spanish tapas restaurant; it's pretty cool with some funky décor. There will be small plates, a salsa / queso bar, and an open bar. We will have the entire back patio, so please plan to dress for the weather. No dress code; we recommend a smart casual look (the couple will NOT be attending in their wedding attire).

Is there a registry?

Answer

Nope! We feel so lucky to get to have the gift of time with those of you who can make it in. If you are feeling called for something more, please consider making a donation to a nonprofit / cause in our honor. Some recommendations close to our hearts include: Stray Rescue of St. Louis, the Chicago Public Library, the Chicago Abortion Fund, and The Bail Project.
