Narrated by Mike: I was sat next to Jaliah to separate me from my friends because we were disrupting class. I then had a conversation with her about favorite ice cream flavors and favorite movies and that started our friendship. Four years later, I spotted Jaliah in the hall during freshman orientation and decided I wanted to talk to her again since we fell off. On the first day of school, as I walked to my first period class, I contemplated how I would run into her and talk to her. When I walked into the band room…there she was! I nervously walked up to her not knowing how it would go and started a conversation with her about roller coasters. I re-enacted riding a rollercoaster as an excuse to hold her hand. After that interaction I was sprung and continued to see her before first period and talk to her. Seven months later, I asked her to be my girlfriend and the rest is history.
