Here are some basic facts about our event. If you have more questions feel free to email us at Daltonm324@gmail.com. We are happy to answer any questions you may have!
Question

What will the temperature be?

Answer

The average daily temperature in Kirkwood in late June is between 65-75°. The temperature can fluctuate quickly. The sun can be very hot and the shade cool. Be prepared. As the sun goes down, the temperature will drop to 35-45°. IT WILL GET CHILLY. we highly suggest bringing a warm cover-up for later on in the evening.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We want our guests to be comfortable while looking their best! We encourage everyone to indulge in this experience and celebrate with us by dressing to impress!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony site?

Answer

3:00-3:45. There is a shuttle that can pick you up and take you to and from the ceremony site if you wish. The shuttle will be running until 2:00 am.

Question

Can I make a toast at the reception?

Answer

Please do!! We encourage anyone who would like to speak at the reception to do so. We welcome stories, words of wisdom, and support. Let us know if you wish to make a toast or feel free to just jump right in!

Question

Will we be inside or outside?

Answer

We will be outside! The HideOut is a beautifully secluded woodsy location with plenty of space to socially distance. Expect to be walking through natural landscape with grass, dirt and beautiful granite rock formations depending on how far you choose to explore. The property is handicap accessible!

Question

Where is the best place to find accomodations?

Answer

All of the possible accommodations are in close proximity to one another. These accommodations are all about 30 minutes from the HideOut. We recommend taking advantage of rental houses and the Kirkwood Mountain Resort within the Kirkwood Ski Resort area.

Question

How far is the HideOut from the nearest town?

Answer

The closest town to the HideOut is an hour away in South Lake Tahoe. There are no service stations or grocery stores near the HideOut. We chose this location because it is secluded and private.

Question

Do I need anything extra?

Answer

Feel free to bring a camping/beach chair, towel, bathing suit, fishing equipment, or anything else you may want to enjoy the fish-stocked pond and 30 person natural granite hot tub!!!! You should expect some bugs, we will have bug spray available. We would also recommend a small flashlight so you can see outside of the lit areas after the sun goes down.

Question

Can I bring my dog?

Answer

NO. As much as we wish you could bring your dog, the property owners only allow the pets of the bride and groom. Please find other arrangements for your furry friend. Sorry!

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

We are so grateful for all of our friends and family and simply ask for your love and support. There will be a card box at our reception or you can reach out to us through the mail at: 13036 Samuel Drive Truckee, CA 96161

Question

The Venue

Answer

The venue is natural rugged Sierra Nevada Terrain. This means lots of natural exposed granite, dirt and dust, grass, and gravel. Pease expect to be walking on uneven terrain and plan accordingly. Stilettos would be brave. Sunglasses are encouraged.

Question

The elevation

Answer

We will be above 7,000 feet. This means everything is more intense, the sun, the temperature, and especially your cocktail. Please understand that elevation sickness is a real thing. Hydrate, Pace yourself, drink lots of water, and use sunscreen. If you live at sea level or close to it, do your research about elevation sickness and how to protect yourself.

Question

Off-Grid

Answer

PLEASE be respectful of the plumbing. This is an off-grid venue, and the plumbing is limited. Please treat it with respect and awareness.

Question

Camping

Answer

If you are camping, you are on your own for breakfast and lunch on Tuesday. Make sure you bring plenty of water, food, and anything else you will need. Don’t forget your headlamp for walking to/from the reception and any other lighting you may need. Keep your camping area clean.

Question

Wildfires and Smoking

Answer

Smoking is allowed in designated smoking areas only. Forest fires are a true threat to our area, and they are no joke. Our climate is dry and highly susceptible to forest fires. Please respect our forests! From 20011-2020, there was an average of 62,805 wildfires each year impacting 7.5 million acres annually. Please use preventative measures.

Question

Cell phone reception

Answer

There is NO cell phone reception at the hideOut!
