Michael & Hollis met at work, but they first learned how much they had in common at the dive bar across the street - Lizzie McNeill's. This is where Michael first impressed Hollis with his knowledge of Munster Donuts, which was a Brown family staple growing up. Their dog, Fritz, normally doesn't like new people, but he loved Michael from the first time he met him. Hollis had told Michael later that was her test, obviously he passed. And now Fritz likes Michael the most...naturally. From there, it didn't take very long to realize how lucky they were to have one another.

Michael was waiting for his window to propose on Valentine's Day. He was unsure when the right moment was going to occur, so he patiently waited most of the afternoon. Hollis went downstairs to get a package, and Michael saw this opportunity as the perfect moment to prepare. He put Fritz in a little puppy tux, and Fritz knew what he had to do. When Hollis came back into the condo, Fritz came running around the corner to greet her in his new outfit. Hollis had thought that dressing Fritz up in the little tuxedo was just a Valentine's Day surprise, and she still didn't realize Michael was going to propose. Hollis went to take a picture of Fritz in his outfit (because he looked adorable), and Michael got down on one knee behind her. After Hollis snapped the photo of Fritz, she turned around and that is when Michael proposed!
