Greta and Michael met in Chicago on the evening of August 17, 2019 while at the Jewel Osco grocery store at Division and N LaSalle Street. Before going to a friend's house in the area, Greta stopped in with three of her friends. Michael noticed the happy group of ladies, and sparked up a conversation by asking for some beer recommendations. Michael had his eye on Greta, but Greta was relatively quiet at first, letting her friends lead the conversation. When she finally chimed in to recommend Twisted Tea as her preferred “beer”, Michael mustered up the courage to offer the pretty lady his number. Greta texted Michael a few days later, and they went on their first date a week after meeting. Michael quickly learned that Greta doesn't like Twisted Tea, is in fact a frequenter of Chicago's many breweries, and is the woman he wanted to marry.
