We met on our very first day of college at James Madison University, Chesapeake Hall, the 5th floor. He was room 502, she was room 528. We hit it off right away, going to football games with our friends, playing pool late at night in the residential hall, exploring Harrisonburg near and far, and jamming out to Rock Band or racing in Mario Kart. It was clear from the beginning that there was something different about each other, and little did we know, it would lead to something amazing. As time passed, our connection only grew stronger, despite us being apart by location. Giavanna traveling to Grenada, then Chicago and New Jersey for medical school, and Michael starting his career near Virginia Beach. We found ourselves traveling to multiple different cities, sharing each other's experiences together, and seeing the world outside from what we know. Long distance made us grow fonder of each other, laughing through it all, supporting each other, and making memories that would last forever. Giavanna and Michael were eventually able to join lives together in Birmingham, Alabama, where their journey as one began.
