We tied the knot, but we still want to celebrate with you!

They met in May 2019 when Emma had just recently moved to San Marcos, CA and started attending Michael's church - Escondido URC. During their first conversation Michael was intending to ask Emma out, but he turned around for a second and she had left! It took a few more weeks to ask her out over Instagram just to have Emma turn him down. 2 years later, on June 27, 2021, Michael tried again and asked Emma to have drinks with him. She agreed and the rest is history!

While visiting Emma's sister and her family in the Phoenix area, they went to look at a property and house for sale on a Saturday morning. After a lovely lunch date overlooking a little lake with fountains, they were on their way back to the house when Michael took a detour and parked at a dead end road where a hiking trail started. He suggested they take a little walk before going home, but Emma wasn't thrilled because they before leaving the restaurant they had agreed to go take naps. Begrudgingly, Emma walked down the trail with Michael and after a couple minutes they came upon a sweet little candlelit picnic tucked behind a bush. Emma turned around and asked what it was and right then Michael took out the ring, got down on one knee and proposed! She said "The ring is upside down, but yes, I'll marry you!"
