Some people swipe right through life, and then there are people who swipe on who is right. That’s how we found each other. Who would have thought internet dating actually works? A quick swipe turned into a text, then a phone call and not long after, our first official date. That first date almost didn’t happen. Elizabeth wasn’t even sure the place existed since it changed names. But like many things that seem uncertain at first, our relationship quickly proved it was very real and something special. Late summer dates turned into fall sleepovers, and as the leaves fell, so did we for each other. Time flew as we both “tried” to play it cool, pretending we weren’t completely obsessed. Before we knew it, we were celebrating the holidays together with each other, our families, and of course, Zola. We made it through winter and sprung ahead toward something even bigger. By May, we both knew this wasn’t just any swipe right, it was a swipe on the right person. Our forever person. Talking about marriage felt natural, and we wanted to take that next step. What started as a typical date night turned into something unforgettable. “Will you take a walk with me before dinner?”—an easy yes—was followed by a much bigger question: “Will you marry me?” An even easier, and much more excited, yes. Since then, our love has only continued to grow. And like anything that grows, love isn’t always perfect. It can be challenging but when two people care for each other as deeply as we do, it creates something truly beautiful. For us, it created forever. Forever together. Forever growing. Forever choosing each other not just for ourselves, but for one another. And as we take this next step into forever, we’re so excited to share it with our friends, our families, and the world.
