It was August 2014, and Michael was the lead man of a band called the Naymes. The band was pumped as they had been asked to open for Twin Cities band EP release party at First Avenue in Minneapolis. If you know the Twin Cities, you know that First Avenue is kind of a big deal. Elissa and a few of her high school friends had tickets to that show. The opener began playing and Elissa's eyes fell upon Michael. To this day, she is unsure what came over her; because if you knew Elissa then, she was quite reserved and shy. But after she saw Michael, she went back to her friends and bet them all that she could touch his butt by the end of the night. And touch it she did. After the show, Elissa bought a CD from the Naymes, and later when she looked inside she discovered Michael had written his phone number. It took a few years for our journeys to align, but after we both did some learning and growing we found each other again in 2019. From our second "first-date" on, we have never looked back. We have truly found a best friend in each other and cannot imagine our lives any other way. We often joke about the night we met, as so much has changed and we are such different versions of our then selves.
