Your first goal will be to find a way to get to Valencia. You can either fly directly into Valencia, or fly into Madrid/Barcelona and then take a train to Valencia. Once you are in Valencia, you can take another train from Valencia to Cullera. There is a bus that services the Cullera train station and will bring you right to the beach. Alternatively, if you're feeling more adventurous, you are of course welcome to rent a car and drive yourselves to Cullera! (no guarantees about parking though!)
When searching for lodging on AirB&B / other sites, type in 'Playa San Antonio - Cullera, Spain'. We suggest you look into AirB&Bs around the area, or any other booking website. There are a few hotels in the area as well, but you may not be able to book those rooms until closer to the date of the wedding. Regardless of what lodging you choose, please ensure that it is within walking distance of 'The Fountain'!
Cullera is a very walkable town - once you get settled into your hotel / apartment / house, you will be able to walk to many different restaurants / shops / other businesses, as well as the major event locations for the wedding.
Unfortunately, children will not be allowed at the Wedding Reception due to the nature of the location. (No solid walls, close proximity to the sea) However, Children are more than welcome to join us for the Wedding Ceremony in the Santuari!
Unless we have specified on your invite that you have a +1, please do not plan to bring any additional guests.
Please try to RSVP by April 15th, 2025. You can RSVP here on the website! Use the menu navigation to get to the RSVP section.
The dress code for both the ceremony and the reception will be formal - please also bear in mind that the ceremony will be a Catholic ceremony and the reception will be at a beach restaurant. When thinking of formal attire to wear, think fun bright colors and flowy fabrics! If you need inspiration, you can text Dawson or look up “Spanish wedding guest outfit” on Pinterest
The wedding ceremony will be indoors inside the Santuari, and the reception will be outdoors at Calima.
More details to come - we will be coordinating shuttles to / from these locations. 'The Fountain' will also be a primary pickup point for these shuttles.
The full menu of options will be shared at a later date but there will be vegetarian, gluten free, and vegan options.
Yes - there will be an open bar!
We would suggest that you brush up on basic conversational Spanish - apart from needing it to order food / navigate travel throughout Spain, Dawson's Spanish Family predominantly speaks Spanish. A little bit of practice before the wedding will pay off greatly!
There is free city / beach WiFi around Cullera, and most business around Cullera offer free WiFi. If you are nervous about not having access to the internet while abroad, most service providers offer you the option to pay a flat fee (~$10 per day) to maintain cell service while abroad. You can usually opt in for this at any point while abroad. We also suggest pre-downloading the map of Cullera in Google Maps on your phone, so that you will still have a functional map even without cell service.
There are a myriad of restaurants representing almost every cuisine you can imagine sprinkled along the boardwalk & throughout Cullera. You will be spoiled with choice in terms of restaurants - and if you're feeling homesick, there is also a Burger King along the beach as well!
